Recently I dreamed that I came upon a dead bear in the wilderness. I was amongst a group, and was the only one to go up to it. I then removed the hide, cleaned it and wore it as a coat. I have animal dreams often, but never one quite like this.

The monster in the darkness isn’t so monstrous after all; you take the shadow and treat it as sacred, as something to respect and ritualize, before integrating it into your being; stronger, warmer, wearing a part of the wilderness into which you venture.

Beautiful. The bear strikes me as representative of primal and instinctual power. Symbolic of life force with a characteristically feminine tone to it (not sure why, couldn't tell if the bear was male/female in the dream). An encounter with the golden shadow, perhaps?
