The best part about freelancing is waking up, and knowing you have the steering wheel to your own life. You can manage larger clients, scale your business, decrease workload, increase expenses, cut them, or do whatever you want. It's all a big game, and it's up to you.

If you outsource the correct things and have a working system freelancing gives you so much freedom. This is solely why it works for me, as a remote worker you have location freedom (like some 9-5's), but you can get back to work on your own terms.

Your income will never be capped. Look at as an example of what a single person can do. Earning tens of thousands per month as a solo designer, granted there are many caveats but your income will never be capped like in a 9-5

To summarise the CONS:
1. crazy hours
2. wearing a billion hats
3. dealing with failure by yourself
Here are the PROS:

When something in your system isn't working, you need to figure out why. Something in your flow isn't clicking and it's your job to learn to fix the problem. This is hard because you don't have the time as you need to be working on a project, or putting out a fire somewhere

You can outsource some of these like accounting, and outreach, or even hire an assistant to help you with client management. However, in the beginning, it's you and you alone balancing all these skills ONTOP of doing the work.

Wearing many hats. As a freelancer you're in charge of the following:
1. accounting/tax
3. outreach to leads
4. marketing yourself
5. improving your skills
6. doing the work itself
7. project management
8. put out any fires
9. staying motivated
(and more)

Disgustingly long hours. Designers find themselves working an absurd amount of hours to meet unrealistic deadlines. When you're solely responsible for a project you're going to make sure that the end result satisfies the client no matter what.

Is freelancing even worth it?
Here are 3 reasons why people think it's not worth it, and 2 reasons why I think it is.

In my eyes, the technology is still too young to really take over the market. You can use this technology in your favor right now by using it for inspiration. You can provide your client with solid examples before doing all the work. You can ask ChatGPT to help you out with copy.

Combining the two in Figma gets you a solid hero header, but in my opinion this isn't to the level where it will take your job (just yet).

Upscaling the image helps, but the prompt was not descriptive enough to get a super detailed version of this cruise ship breaking through glaciers.

Midjourney is a menace for creating imagery. The prompt for these results was "Luxury cruise ship hero header". If you zoom in to the images themselves you'll see that although from a distance these look great the smaller details aren't distinctive enough.

ChatGPT can create immaculate copy for 99% of websites. Here is an example of a cruise ship company. This is the first iteration I tried, with a more specific brief you can narrow down your results.

Done! Is better than perfect, but try to improve 1% every time. Improve your pacing, your lighting, your mood, your hair, whatever it is but try to improve one thing from the last video. Over time you'll have changed your set up completely without realising. 🚀

Repetition & Showing Up. Take this one out of any of them, just showing up every single day is the most important part. It's the only life hack you'll ever need.

Exponential Growth. In the earlier days of posting it took me X amount of time to get 30 views, and no money. The same amount of time now gets me over 2k views, and some money. As the channel grows so will the views. 📷

Patience. It took me 6 months of weekly content to reach 100 subs. In that timeframe I knew that sticking it out would *eventually* work out. It did so far!
