It's starting to look like we're going to have to get distros to ship M1-specific kernels (or tell users to install them from an alternate source). Not because there's anything we won't/can't upstream, but because it seems the only sane way to use M1s is with 16K pages.
Our #armbian distribution is tailored to support such cases but we haven't decided yet for going the M1 way. Depends on help from our community to integrate your work. Current state - we have some M1 powered devices around, interest exists, but time is critical component :(
