9/One of those 3 problems has to be solved by Snapchat to pull users away from other networks.

8/Example: I love @msuster's Snaps but I can't tell if today's is his 1st or 500th & even a user like him had no way of being discovered.

7/So a lack of discovery, a network that doesn't allow itself to be networked, and content that is ephemeral = problems for long term.

6/Snapchat has benefit for an existing network but there is no benefit from your network's network. Isn't this the opposite of viral?

5/Then there is discovery... Not having the ability to use the network to acquire followers means that the network has nothing to give me .

4/That is the problem with ephemeral content.

3/So even with 0 followers today the work devoted to building it isn't wasted because it's searchable/accessible & can be a follower funnel

2/Users of non ephemeral mediums (e.g. Medium or Twitter) derive benefit from content years after it is created.

1/Published content has value on social networks in real time and in archived consumption.
