The score for Schindler's List is regarded to be one of the finest in contemporary film. Numerous figure skaters have used the soundtrack in the past. Get a grip.

Yea I’m an anti-PC right of center type of guy and even I find this tweet by Ariel to be pretty xenophobic...
-
I doubt he has even seen the film. Another comment hit the nail on the head reminding that Schindler was the good guy in the grand scheme of events
-
Not only have I seen the film, I’ve visited multiple concentration camps, including Auschwitz. Thanks for your input. I am very familiar with the story of Oskar Schindler.
-
Then you know Schindler was German. So what's the problem with a German skater performing to a soundtrack from a movie about him 70 years later?

It is a beautiful piece
-
sure. doesn’t mean it is appropriate to dance to. It’s an homage to people who were murdered. It is not a celebratory song.
-
I can see that. Do you think him and his team had a discussion on whether to use it or not based on where it is from?
-
it was a female. I don’t know. I turned on the TV and saw it. I know it has been used before, doesn’t make it right. There are literally millions of songs to use.
-
Who are you to say what's right and wrong?
-
Come on man, you could use that response for anything involving what is right and wrong.

Oskar Schindler was a German hero who personally saved the lives of a thousand-plus Jews, & continues to inspire millions, from stories (& musical themes) of him. He is buried in Jerusalem, on Mount Zion. Of course I respect your opinion, but I think you are way off on this one.
-
I am very well aware of his story. I’ve visited concentration camps in Poland. Feel confident that I am right that the skater could have chosen a million other songs that weren’t written to commemorate the murder of millions of innocent people. It’s tone deaf.
-
Isn't that story about commemorating what Oskar Schindler did, & highlighting what unites all of us in our shared humanity? Dance as an artform is not only to show joy, it can be an expression of all emotions. If she meant to insult I'd be pissed, but her intent seems to honor.

I saw a german guy driving a Volkswagen the other day. He even had the audacity to sport a ‘tache too. Discgraceful.
-

Feel pretty good about this one.

Agree with you on this situation 100%. Guess I was just being a grumpy turd. I enjoy all you do for us MMA fans. Just gets boring seeing you caught up in political crap, but it is your page! Enjoy your weekend.
