As much as I get to like AddressSanitizer, it has its limits. If a leak originates from a call to a function from a third-party library loaded dynamically, it won't be instrumented during the build and as such not caught. Valgrind to the rescue.

Hey I just came across an article at the biggest Russian IT portal where they amply cite your article: Wondering if you have spotted a spike in requests to your personal site when it was published - that's what people mentioned there often see.

During these nightmarish days, decides to fix everything by closing my account for being Iranian. Honestly it almost made me laugh. This will be great for my undergrad class, where students have to deliver everything on github.

I am attending in Moscow this April. has grown to be a world-class conference in last years and I'm truly excited to join this time. If you are a C++ dev I strongly encourage you to come. Looking forward to having great time and meeting awesome people!

One curious benefit of using Address Sanitizer is that it disciplines you to cleanup even those resources that otherwise remain alive until the process exits. After integrating ASan, most fixes I had to do have specifically targeted such scenarios.

In C++, the desire to have abstract interfaces for everything in order to be able to provide Mocks for unit tests leads to terrible interfaces that are not testable.

Ironically, I've got a (very minor) fix to contribute to Nginx just as the recent events have hit the company. Consider it my humble vote in support of and personally and Maxim Konovalov.

A traditional Haskell survey by shows a familiar picture. We need best practices, design principles, application architectures, case studies. This is what I'm doing for years. Help me in spreading my materials for everyone's profit. Subscribe and RT! 1/

If we want to fix a problem, we need to be specific about what it is. There is currently ONE proposal to add networking support to the standard library, and ASIO is it. The time to be discussing issues, in concrete terms, is now.

Twitter folks, what is the one best book about Linux (memory management, scheduler, internals, etc) that you would recommend to someone trying to build a cohesive picture and thorough understanding of the subject? Asking for a friend!

All sorts of crazy s**t, and I don't really know what I'm doing, and I don't know enough to ask. CMake is impenetrable to me, and so are its docs. (Mostly, I'm trying to configure a library on systems that may or may not support certain standard or almost standard bits.)

Experimental code for the unified async abstraction in C++ has been released on GitHub: Check it out, there is a big chance this research paves the way for what will be proposed for standartisation.
