I’ll take some heat for this, but #Aquaman is the best Marvel movie that DC has made. That doesn’t mean it’s exactly like that formula, but it feels like a film that knows what it is, what it’s selling and who it’s selling to. There’s no identity crisis here.

Any chance it’s in-line with Marvel’s Phase One movies?
Those have been my favorite so far.

Why does it have to be a Marvel movie? Nobody said that about WonderWoman. I don't see why it can't just be a unique DC film.
There's no reason to make that comparison to the other movies, Aquaman is clearly meant to be its own standalone film with only minor ties to the others.

I think the best way to explain your tweet is with the last sentence of it. Some ppl call MoS and BvS pretentious films and while I love both movies I understand what they mean with that. They felt more indie blockbusters than superhero movies, specially BvS.

Yes, MOS and BVS are uniquely different from anything else Marvel OR DC has done. I love MOS and have mixed feelings on BVS, but feel that WW and Aquaman are the “just right” of the DC comic films.
