Due to a ridiculous heatwave that's hitting BC (and other parts of North-West Canada and the US), I'm spending the day in my local public library. (It's hotter in BC right now than Egypt. Which is completely crazy to me. #climatechange am i right?) (thread)

They've been open for less than an hour, and several arguments over the use of the local computers have already broken out, requiring librarians to step in and sort out the schedules. Note that all of the users are adults - most of whom are trying to be very sneaky and failing.

These poor librarians are having to explain basic etiquette to full grown adults. There are signs everywhere about the sign up schedule. It really isn't that complicated... their patience is remarkable.

Somebody just complained that the library opened earlier than they thought it would. I fail to understand why this is an issue.

A number of small children have entered the library. They have all been very polite and have shown the ability to follow basic instructions much more effectively than the would-be sneaky adults.

AND one family is here specifically to find books on Canada's history so they can work with their children to reflect on this country's complicated past on Canada Day.
