The trench is defined by walls measuring 5.5 x 5 cm2. Topsoil is a fine sand, 4/4 reddish brown. I will be completing 2 cm passes with a toothpick trowel.pic.twitter.com/32BnADVpKZ

The trench is defined by walls measuring 5.5 x 5 cm2. Topsoil is a fine sand, 4/4 reddish brown. I will be completing 2 cm passes with a toothpick trowel.pic.twitter.com/32BnADVpKZ
Level 1 - first 2cm pass. No change in soil - sample removed to egg poacher zambili and separated for flotation. No visible artifacts. Arbitrary level 2 opened to separate levels.pic.twitter.com/oCkjv9zJcG
Dry sifting of level 1 reveals no additional finds. No organic remains found in flotation, though there is unforeseen separation and globing of soil. Sample reserved for additional testing.pic.twitter.com/1yYdGK3mK3
Fist pass in level 2 reveals top of unidentified white material. Believed to be bone.pic.twitter.com/QwgxAtjkrb
Continuing to clear level 2. Switched to brush technique to preserve delicate materials.pic.twitter.com/pIBGgJEZnB
Third pass in level 2. Second section of assumed bone material uncovered in NW quadrant of trench. Unclear if this piece is related to previously uncovered fragment.pic.twitter.com/DqQcHE8K7J
In fourth pass, more of organic remains uncovered. I now suspect that the original artifact is the top of mammal skull, while second section is a mandible. This remains to be confirmed. Surprised to find that there is still no change in soil.pic.twitter.com/fwyTZXp2jD
First object now cleared. Ready to be removed. Bedrock appearing in south and north of trench.pic.twitter.com/ehzKU2PIkc
After removal of object, a third fragment seems to be visible below first. Second object ready to be removed.pic.twitter.com/9AYQNvvHxd
Presence of third fragment confirmed, directly above bedrock. Appears to be part of a jaw. Likely connected to previous finds.pic.twitter.com/wjSk6884bK
Third object removed. Trench cleared to bedrock. 2 arbitrary levels identified. No change in soil throughout.pic.twitter.com/gCALSk8BmB
Final reconstruction based on bioarchaeological reference material suggests that all 3 finds are part of a single Rodian skull. A very significant find for the field.pic.twitter.com/Dtbfy8ZELS
Trench has been backfilled. Plans for onsite museum in the works.pic.twitter.com/PGgAklW03t
Hahaha my curator husband made me a display case for my museum
