Exactly! If they're trying to Alienate Jotego and make him stop making Cores that's just terrible for MiSTer. Let the man do his thing and how he see's fit. It's an Open Source Project after all.

Judging by how many patron support he has, clearly he's doing something right.

I fail to see how he's breaking GPL or open source or even just common sense by waiting until the cores are truly done to release the source, and to my knowledge, he's done that one every single project without fail, right? The drama is straight out of emulation 20 years ago.

The funny part is they assume his core is currently GPL, he did state he would be removing GPL licensing at one point if you all recall. ;)

I'm not even close to enough in the loop to comment there. Guess to me it's very much semantics, and the key to me is that jotego has never failed to release source code when it meets his satisfaction. I have to think that in and of itself would please most purists.

The "issue" they have I think is that he's making money and the paywall for the Beta Cores. I'd be one thing if he never released the Cores/Source Code at all maybe. They're just finding reasons to defend their opinion on something they can't control and they don't like that.

If you want to wait until it's out of Beta go for it. If you want to get early access and help Support a person that's doing great work for this Community go for it. I see no reason to stir up drama. They want to control and dictate what he can and can't do. Shocker.
