@Lemonici helped me beautify my MiSTer Input Latency Results. This should be the go to page for discovery and the spreadsheet can be used for deeper dives. https://rpubs.com/misteraddons/inputlatency …

I forget, is the source to the lag tester core open, or just the binary .rbf that gets handed out? Seems it could be useful for other forms of input testing if tweaked.

Just the RBF but it should work for any controller you can use with MiSTer.

Do you know if the author is willing to share? Seems like a trivial thing to allow other folks to learn from. Thanks!

for the record, we're interested in a generic input test core that does not require one to load NES input test rom for example. And we've seen this lag test and wondered if it could shortcut dev time. But please go on about how this post was trolling.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA2FqoVqZYo …

The lag test core doesn't require you to load any particular ROM. It was just modified from the old NES core and can run NES ROMs (poorly). You don't even need to load any ROM at all for it to work.

I was unaware it was a modified variant of the NES core. TIL. Really was not intending to go there, but what you said brings up some valid questions. Where is the source? Cuz the NES core is GPL, eh?pic.twitter.com/otQjNAPwwc
