Also, a lot of the console cores were not in the greatest of shape back in 2018. Some were in a "playable" shape, but honestly MiSTer didn't really come into its own until sometime in 2019. That is when the much improved ASCAL scaler was implemented.

I guess technically back in 2018 you could have hooked it up to an OSSC for HDTV use, but then that is an added cost and not something you had to do with Analogue products or the RetroUSB AVS console.
