MiSTer doesn’t require anything pirated. You can run the games you legally own.

You can but making legal copy’s of thing you own is a grey area, I don’t get me wrong over the years I have paid for loads of them games and still have a load now but I would say 100% of mister users are not playing games they own including me

I would say that's pure speculation on your part and any crimes you're committing I would not project onto other users.

That update script is using roms available freely on http://archive.org  You can disable the part where it grabs the roms in the script setup

"You can disable the part where it grabs the roms in the script setup" again, your average MiSTerFPGA user is NOT going to do that. Period, end of story. We all know this. Hence the point we are all discussing.

I'm not actually discussing much, just making statements. In the end, its the user with the power to do with MiSTer what they will. It is not a piracy driven project.
