joking aside I populated my I/o myself, and for the amount of time it took me to build it and the cost of buying one fully populated @ $31.68 are they even making any money?
'are they even making any money?' to get at this you have to dive into Chinese mass manufacturing a bit. Their costs to manufacture are WAAAAAAAAY less than many other places. Especially when done at volume. Keeping in mind also idle factories waste money just the same.
