also what's the theoretical benefit to FPGA based emulation if the DRAM cells they're based on can't exceed ddr 3, easily matched on a fast enough CPU? it sounds like the emulation equivalent of a fidget spinner. all pleasure, one purpose, to a specific kind of person.

Honestly the main reason I like FPGA is because it allows for low latency without weird hacks like run ahead feature found on emulators that you have to calibrate per game.
