I'm a dev and I can see their perspective. There's a reason so many programming language communities have added package managers outside the system one, for instance. If you aren't taking advantage of the package manager's capabilities, why pay its costs?
I’m gonna likewise guess you aren’t a dev that wraps his binary in someone else’s hardware and operating system, that subsequently ships the entire landscape as an all in one system? I could be wrong.
