It’s such a bad idea to centralize all the cores under one account/organization on GitHub. All it will take is one takedown request from some company that doesn’t like their hardware “cloned” on this platform and the whole project is taken down.

It would be much better to have cores under different accounts, by author, then have an official “registry” in a root updater script to pull the cores from each repository. Functionally there would be no difference and it would make the project much more resilient.

IMO it’s not IF, but WHEN a takedown request is sent, especially with the project hitting major news outlets. I know reverse engineering is legal, but if any core used and “leaked” info to improve accuracy there would be a valid claim, even if it isn’t easy or possible to prove
