But actually on this topic, I see it having no more, or less, value that the system it is recreating. For some it could even be more valuable as they can just plug it in and have it working, as well without going through mods to get that HDMI.

Personally, I find Analogue products to have no value except to scalpers, as no one else can buy them, so far. Maybe that'll change, but I'm taking their "anti-scalping" statement with a huge grain of salt.

"MiSTer itself isn't a product" lol wut!? Ya'll mofos are goofy. It is absolutely a productized landscape built around DE-10 nano. You are legit stupid to argue that it isn't a "product". It IS, period. Always will be.pic.twitter.com/wj6toThPmA

MiSTer is an open source hardware and software project. The DE10-Nano is a product that is required to use the MiSTer hardware and software. Since Shane said it "isn't a product like an Analogue device", then to satisfy the conditions, MiSTer just needs not be proprietary IP.

Actually no it isn’t... it has been ported to a number of other FPGa dev kits. Fact is if we were dealing with any sort of real dev team they’d have moved on to their own PCB taking the components of the dev kit :) why does sorg complain about his proprietary interfaces then?

Where can I find info on one of these ports? If it's the one for the chameleon96, I'm well aware of that person's motives and tendency to exaggerate their expertise and what they can do. But if they got the c96 port working, great. Makes the playing field all the more interesting

De0 nano would basically cripple the mister in many ways as a port. And you still are buying a proprietary board. also that project is dead for 2 years now and didn't go anywhere...

You’re deep in the weeds in semantics and missing the point. The de10-nano is not required for this project period. For now the only real requirement is a cyclone fpga. There are and have been discussions on porting the logic to lattice just the same. Nothing technically prevents
