Scratching an itch. The open source imperative.
main point, lets not exaggerate the "spec", or "framework", etc. I think all some of us are doing is pointing out that the project manager sucks at managing a project. He wants users, but doesn't want em. It is goofy. As a company man... he isn't support! https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=525 …pic.twitter.com/Ze6HFh6jNG
That's why businesses keep their support department separate from the development departments. Why would you expect that much from a freely provided open source project?
So we are admitting there is some business element to this finally? or no? ;) Also freely provided? The entire landscape lives on micro transactions. https://www.patreon.com/FPGAMiSTer pic.twitter.com/vpYfyhWTM6
Show me where anyone is required to pay for the software that is released. Once its open source, its free. You can certainly contribute to spur on development but its not a requirement for the main mister project.
Show me where I said "required", I said the community *thrives* on micro transactions, did I not? Does it not? https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=482 …pic.twitter.com/MX4cLc2Dd0
you didn't say it but you clearly implied it. You act like thriving on microtransactions is a bad thing. Twitch thrives on microtransactions. Why even bring it up?
why act all wax poetic like no one is making money? Twitch also owns up to being a "product"... what are you even attempting to point out. lol.
You're not necessarily buying a product when youre funding developers. It's tipping at best in sorgs case. I never said or suggested developers aren't making money. Why shouldn't they be rewarded if people want to throw money at them as thanks for their work?
Kinda. "In project management, products are the formal definition of the project deliverables that make up or contribute to delivering the objectives of the project". You haven't suggested lack of profit, others do, frequently. No reason, just be honest.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Product_(business) …
