(Paraphrased) “Incompatible with the framework” is poppycock, like you can’t support alternate hardware via internal config file and some #ifdefs even in the most crude implementation. It’s resistance to outside ideas or willingness to help integrate them in many cases.

There's a thing called project scope. Sorg has his idea of what the project should be. He no doubt didn't expect the project to become as popular as it has.. and it will surely morph into something else beyond his intention in time. But for now, it is what it is and that's ok.

It’s kinda ok, except the acting like anyone trying to work outside the box is awful for doing so. ;) especially when he forked someone else’s work anyway. Is there an actual project scope and spec defined!? Seems you are exaggerating a wee bit.

I would think when he announced the project and fork he had something laid out but that's just an assumption and I don't actually know to what extent he has written down the project goals

"The key point why MiSTer was born is HDMI. While developing/porting cores to MiST i was always struggling to get picture on my monitor" There's your scope, right there my man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVTMWX0WUJk …pic.twitter.com/rooURcX5Lb

Scratching an itch. The open source imperative.

main point, lets not exaggerate the "spec", or "framework", etc. I think all some of us are doing is pointing out that the project manager sucks at managing a project. He wants users, but doesn't want em. It is goofy. As a company man... he isn't support! https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=525 …pic.twitter.com/Ze6HFh6jNG

That's why businesses keep their support department separate from the development departments. Why would you expect that much from a freely provided open source project?

So we are admitting there is some business element to this finally? or no? ;) Also freely provided? The entire landscape lives on micro transactions. https://www.patreon.com/FPGAMiSTer pic.twitter.com/vpYfyhWTM6

Show me where anyone is required to pay for the software that is released. Once its open source, its free. You can certainly contribute to spur on development but its not a requirement for the main mister project.

Show me where I said "required", I said the community *thrives* on micro transactions, did I not? Does it not? https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=482 …pic.twitter.com/MX4cLc2Dd0

you didn't say it but you clearly implied it. You act like thriving on microtransactions is a bad thing. Twitch thrives on microtransactions. Why even bring it up?
