Your sentence two was an abstract statement not necessarily proving your point. By definition it is a product. Even if that product happens to be a pile of de-10 nano accessories. The independent / open source doesn’t matter.

"isn't a product like an Analogue device" != "isn't a product" btw. A product like an Analogue device requires a company like Analogue to sell it and they have IP rights over it. You can build your own add-on boards if you want. OSHW by design aren't that kind of product.
