      The only way I can see this type of refund being viable is if it’s fresh food or a medication with a short shelf life. I hope there is a way to flag future purchases from this individual.

      Yeah, that would make sense. No control over who buys what when it's fulfilled by Amazon. I could take back control and fulfill myself, while being listed on their site, but that's really no better for me than just selling on my site.
