How about cryptocommunities work with FATF etc. to build mechanisms to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing? Then governments can spend more time focusing on WHY people are engaging in illegal activities, corruption, terrorism etc and address root causes.

One of the largest money laundering operations around is HSBC but they’re too big to prosecute. So we know who the guilty parties are, we just can’t prosecute them.
