How about cryptocommunities work with FATF etc. to build mechanisms to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing? Then governments can spend more time focusing on WHY people are engaging in illegal activities, corruption, terrorism etc and address root causes.

Exactly. Make sure funds can't be laundered or used for illicit purposes - which we can all agree is bad. Do something about it.
