This is one of those really dumb graphs. The sort of thing which Pinker might come out with. Comparing today's economy to 1000 years ago makes literally no sense. The ways in which people lived and worked were very different, such that monetary comparison is meaningless.

As just one example, 1000 years ago most people had no problems obtaining housing or land and lived on a locally produced organic diet. Food and living space of equivalent quality would be extremely costly today.
