An open letter to Julian Assange
Written and signed by every member of the DiEM25 spontaneous collective Leipzig. @DiEM25_Leipzig asked if I would share this. I agree with the sentiments—see https://ar.al/notes/farewell-not-goodbye/ …—and so I am. A necessary debate.

No, it was DiEM25 that actually called for a debate on this matter days ago. Surprised that u being so eager to follow this issue + being so public about ur personal views, u failed to notice the topic in the forum, membership-wide mailout...
-
Well, no, they didn't call for a debate. You doomed any attempt to raise even the question. Cf. my (non-public) emails nearly 2 weeks ago.

I'd point you to the forum link spelling it out, the newsletter, the FB posts, etc. But it's quite abvious that this is not about the matter in question. So go on, keep the no skin in the game -grand standing behind the screen.

1. No one is considered 'god-like' at
#DiEM25. 2. The Greek NC and the CC initiated the debate on this matter: see our Forum, etc. 3. When the arguments are presented in full, an ALL-member vote will settle it: democratically. -
As an enthusiastic DiEMer I was sad to see this post in response to some DiEMers case against our unconditional support for Assange. This post, although isolated, is worrying in the way it treats JA like a prophet and wartime martyr. DiEM is better than this.
