(Cont @thrivahealth) How do you get your data and results removed from the system? Is there a way? How does your service comply with #gdpr? Does it? (CC @PaulNemitz)

Hey Aral, We do not sell data to insurance companies, nor do we intend to. We plan to use our data to improve the product experience and help prevent disease
-
Thanks. Would be great to have that in writing in your privacy policy; especially given the nature of the data you’re collecting. I’d use your services if I was convinced your business model was solely based on the fees you charge & that you wouldn’t sell (eg., to Alphabet, etc.)
-
Agree Aral, a review of our policies is on our roadmap to make sure that we're as clear as can be about this sort of thing.

It does seem to be a rather odd business. It’s not as though you can learn much from a single finger prick blood test. I wonder what the *real* aim is.
-
Hey Pritpal, we're building a preventative healthcares service. Individual blood tests are useful, but value for our customers is in longitudinal tracking allowing them to pre-empt issues.
-
I don’t disagree with that. I guess the question is how you’ll collect longitudinal data (which is notoriously hard and so likely to be expensive) within your business model - and hence whether you’ll have to monetise your data. To be seen.

I remain staggered at what people are willingly donating to organisations with such solid business models built on exploiting their data.
