What is the recommended browser to use on android nowadays? /@aral
No idea, sorry. I don’t use Android as, unless you’ve installed AOSP and use F-Droid store and have hardened the OS yourself after rooting your phone, you’re carrying around a surveillance device for Alphabet, Inc.

Which device/OS do you use or would you suggest?

I currently use an iPhone (for reasons: https://ar.al/notes/apple-vs-google-on-privacy-a-tale-of-absolute-competitive-advantage/ …). Am I happy with Apple on ethical grounds these days? No. (See recent news on China/censorship/taxes, etc.) Will be looking into the Purephone (Librem phone) the first chance I get (see https://puri.sm/products/ )

what you describe here is exactly what
@CopperheadOS is doing. limited to a few phone models, sure, but the best option out there. -
I’ll keep a closer eye on them. Are you watching
@Puri_sm and@matrixdotorg – I have high hopes for the Pure Phone (Librem phone) :) -
Yes! the path to a "pure"
@debian-based phone has been a long, strange trip... as with@JollaHQ,Firefox Phone the real challenge for recommending it is U.S. carrier support.@matrixdotorg is very promising. in practice,@RiotChat is (almost) the only implementation users choose.
