Choose an adblocker carefully. The two most popular ones are not necessarily the best choices. Most popular one is paid unknown millions by adtech to enable trackers by default. Furthermore, no one knows who owns the second most popular one.https://twitter.com/zeynep/status/948991510372007936 …

@betterblocker for Safari on iOS and macOS and for other browsers I use@Ghostery (meticulously preferenced) and@ublockorigin and also@brave and many like@PrivacyBadger for FF but I find it too clunky tbh3 replies 4 retweets 10 likes -

(Indeed. I believe that’s why David qualified it with “meticulously preferenced”. The hypocritical bullshit of adtech industry cohorts like Ghostery and AdBlock Plus was the reason Laura and I felt compelled to create Better.)

Laura and I are concentrating our efforts on Indienet/iGent and maintaining Better this year. No new platforms for Better planned. That said, we do generate an Easylist version of the block rules that you could use, e.g., in uBlock Origin (no support):https://twitter.com/aral/status/892137744398508032?s=17 …
