This is the first time I read about DiEM25, did a quick read on Wikipedia and was amazed at the proposal. Then I read your article and was left quite disillusioned as I have seen the same road been taken by several political movements before. I
your stance and words.

Thanks, Javier. It’s a very young movement with tremendous potential. I wholeheartedly hope it will move past these growing pains. The decisions they take at this juncture will play a fundamental role in shaping its culture. The tree is still a sapling and malleable :)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'm definitely with you on openness, IT-security, decentralised and direct communication. I'm sorry for your exit but I hope it will start a constructive discussion.

That’s the hope :) (And thanks!)

Thanks for writing this. And if speaking out against someone who’s turning into an asshole (allegedly because of his circumstances) makes you less empathic in their eyes, so be it. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Thanks, André. Here’s wishing you a great year ahead :)

Have written similar thoughts here a couple of months ago. https://www.diem25.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=176&t=15301&p=32446#p32446 … CC meetings are not recorded and then we criticize the eurogroup. Also very little fiscal transparency. Voting system is private too?!

Sad to hear! but have to agree on all points. I was a reluctant member of DiEM due to its involvement w/ Assange - a stance I simply cannot support. I would very much like to see the movement broaden and grow and to that end am hoping your critique is heard

You just summed up everything I was feeling about DiEM in one beautiful post, like you I do see the need of a pan European progressive mouvement-party but Assange, internal behavior, made me reluctant to join fully, I'm still a member in Brussels but barely participating.

I'm a member of DIEM25 for similar reasons. Your article is well written and eye opening. It's a shame it has come to this.
