Hey @ProtonMail, why is there a Google tracker in your Android app? https://reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org/reports/337/ :/

-
Crashlytics is a crash reporter, not a tracker. The analytics SDK is called "Answers".
-
whatever is going on here, we're looking for increased transparency. to us, it seems very unclear what goes into these APKs at build time (our own work inserting these tracker SDKs into an app was enlightening) Does
@Protonmail truly know what Crashlytics is doing with user data? -
If you'd like to know what crashlytics does and how it works, listen to this episode of ADB podcast where Android framework engineers discuss crashlytics with developers from crashlytics http://androidbackstage.blogspot.com/2017/10/episode-80-crash-talk.html …
-
Hi!! Just to be sure, Crashlytics gives this configuration to the ProtonMail app: "features": { "collect_analytics": true, "collect_logged_exceptions": true, "collect_reports": true, "prompt_enabled": false, "push_enabled": true },
-
Screen captures needed? No problem: https://framapic.org/gallery#loq89kn7cc0G/n0fKXbaLl7q6.png,fcW4WiRYLins/bZA4TFNEmwa7.png …

The application did not cashed but has sent data to crashlytics 3 times. Data like that, see attachment.pic.twitter.com/MBnKiJW30H
