By whom? Anyone who runs a Mastodon instance has every right to choose what they allow and what they don’t on their instance. The freedom in Mastodon comes from your freedom to choose your instance/terms of service or, better yet, run your own.

That not nice. They should. And yet, again, it’s their private property and they can be dicks if they want to be. The whole idea behind our owning and controlling our own technology is that we are not beholden to the whims of others. Mastodon (& other FOSS) enables us to do that.
