So
@betterblocker currently blocks ~17 trackers on@MotherJones,@ClaraJeffery You get rid of those, and then let’s talk about people supporting your journalism. Because, right now, I don’t see journalism, I see behavioural advertising.pic.twitter.com/TBSoyYY1hr

Most of those are our internal analytics, which I presume you know. And readers are free to use services such as yours. And...what journalism do you support? And how?

Saying “readers are free to use services such as yours” is a cop-out. Why do you base your business on violating people’s privacy & exposing them to third-party tracking/profiling networks? Why is your default to create an unsafe space? Quite frankly, it’s a despicable business.

Replying to @aral @ClaraJeffery and
Just curious; are there any third-party networks you do deem safe? In my experience a service like NewRelic can be quite handy for a site owner. Do you have a whitelist of acceptable services/alternatives next to you blacklist?

At this point, no. For the simple reason that – as far as I’m aware – none of these third-parties have algorithmic transparency or any notice of limitation of future use of the data. If you know of any that do & which can be auditing, I’d be interested in reviewing them.
