Algorithms with processes that aren't transparent ( or deliberately secret to the users) are too...to condemn or accept it.. however complex

And yet those algorithms and processes directly arise from VC-backed business models based on farming people for insight and seeking exits.

Sadly so, as long as the old model is in place that will prevail. We need to think impact, and sustainability rather than power/growth.
