From every guest lecture, we somehow already had students that afterwards join us for an internship, thesis, student job, job... Worth it.

I don't want universities to undermine or exploit externals, but you appear to ignore the "collective good" aspect of universities.

I.e. universities should be inviting you to broaden their message, validly so; not to cover teaching "on the cheap".

Unis normally invite ppl who are employed by other unis and only cover travel cost, because it’s part of a lecturers job to give visiting lectures. They are paid for it by their home uni.
