I can be facetious about Facebook all day, but really the important thing is who enables this? Who still thinks it’s ok to work at Facebook?

Actually we the users enabled this. We created the monster and we fed it. It's time we faced the truth of ourselves, ugly as it is.

Oddly, I don’t remember investing billions in venture capital in Silicon Valley people farmers. “Users enabled this” is victim blaming.

We did not invest money but we fed the demand and they supplied. We wanted more. Not to let them off the hook but we must accept some blame

Again, it wasn’t as if people (without tech knowledge) were given a choice. VC only invests in one business model. There was no choice.

It's true people didn't really know what they were getting into. Now that we know, will we choose differently or go with what we're used to?

Will we fund and create ethical alternatives via ethical means so people have actual choices? I hope so.

I hope you have great success. People especially children need ethical education to make right choices. Education w/out ethics is dangerous

Thanks, Robert. And couldn’t agree more. Was great to see ethical design added to the Dutch curriculum this year via @DeBalie, for example.
