Nope. Android is open source. You can compile your own ROM. You can see what's inside and you can fully control it, unlike iOS.

Yes, AOSP is open source. Google Play services isn’t. Unless you’re an über-geek, you’re going to buy a stock Android phone…

Everyone buys a stock Android phone, but they CAN convert it to a AOSP ROM. You CAN'T do the same with any iOS device.
