"Acceptable Ads" is bonus bullshit, because they give you the choice to turn on "EasyPrivacy" but then override it with a misleading option.

That statement mixes the criteria (which certainly have their own problems) and the implementation in AdBlock Plus (which is their choice).
-
So there is, somewhere, another implementation of "Acceptable Ads" that clearly explains to a user what it's doing? If so, got a screenshot?
-
My statement doesnt require your stronger claim. But I believe Crystal app uses Accept Ads criteria. Don't know about their implementation.
-
When is not knowing about implementation of something a qualification for being on its committee? All the examples I can think of are shady.
-
You are again mixing two things: implementation of the ads and of the ad blocker. Acceptable Ads is about the ads themselves.
-
It's also about "community-washing" what would otherwise be an indefensible user deception and protection racket. Committee helps enable it.
-
Current standards not set by the Committee, which hasn't started work yet. If criteria don't change then, I agree on "community-washing".
