While we double down to protect the rights of all people of all beliefs (or lack thereof), we must also the right to criticise ideas freely.

Still, I think it’s only fair to talk about religion, or fundamentalism, as a entire phenomenon, rather than singling out one religion.
-
Not every set of ideas is the same. Each should be debated on its own merits – or lack thereof – as well as “belief” itself (vs reason).
-
True, not every set of ideas is the same, but the venn diagram of things you dislike is Islam also intersects other popular religions.
-
Goes without saying.
-
If it goes without saying then why don’t we broaden the conversation instead of picking on the thing already being picked on?
-
The assumption being that some mythical “we” doesn’t. I can’t speak for the “we” but my criticism of religion is a broad church :)
-
Great. Then why don’t you broaden the conversation instead of picking on the thing already being picked on.
-
Again, my conversation over the years has been and is broad.

I am not so sure about "Islam is an ideology". It seems there are a lot of Islams around, and a lot of people claiming theirs is "the one".
-
Feel free to replace ideology with ideologies, that’s not my main point :)
-
I know. But it always amazes me how people can be so sure about things that the neighbours know for sure are completely different...
-
Does none of them stop to think:"Hm, apparently it's possible to have different views on this"?
