        In the press they said it creates an anonymous ID. Also, they’ve implemented machine learning on device + a framework for it for devs.

        Not true. (a) Machine learning on your own device(s) to learn your own behaviour is effective (b) Apple does have data about the world…

        Both Google and Apple use proprietary code for their devices, how do we verify any claim about privacy ?

        Neither can risk lying. If caught the damage to their reputation would be horrific. Trust they will act according to their business models.

        You don't own your data with Google, they do. That's not the case on Apple, if I got all this correct.
