        Almost all institutional free Wi-Fi (airport, hotel, etc) in India requires Indian mobile # to receive OTP. Pervasive. Considered normal.

        I love it when I can use http://trashmail.com  for such places. I have yet to setup IP over DNS (iodine) to bypass the jail portals.
