In a nutshell, while it protects your traffic from observation by your ISP, you’re not protected from a malicious VPN provider.

With a VPN you push the problem one step further down the pipe. You still have the same trust issue, but now with the VPN provider.

@getcloak gets low marks on that list btw, as does@IPredatorVPN for privacy (?) need to look deeper into their data +@steffenweber
