You see how you confound your ramblings on evil corporations (since this tweet) with technology in this tweet?

-
I respect your opinion on evil corps btw (not that I agree), but the anti-tech attitude is misinformed.
-
i.e., the solution is not to deny/ignore/oppose tech (as you seemed to suggest by moving back to "keyword search.")

@dvdgrs interior? Big lol when targeted ads, native ads... are so desperately bad quality. Must be their "superior" tech..Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I agree with the sentiment, but
@dvdgrs makes a valid point. The barrier to success of DuckDuckGo is that Google search tech is better -
I'm not saying accuracy of search results matters more than personal privacy, but we should aknowledge the distinction.
-
there's an interesting question of whether Google search is better *because* of their data collection or for unrelated reasons
-
i.e. does demanding privacy mean accepting a low ceiling on search quality, or can we have both (in theory)?
-
Maybe I’m just not a Google power user, but I didn’t notice a drop in quality when I switched to DuckDuckGo.
-
It’s probably true that search can be better with more data (a la google) but other solutions can be “good enough” for most?
