Problem isn’t just Evernote, it’s all centralised tech. An entity with power/ownership/control will exercise it. Support #decentralisationhttps://twitter.com/verge/status/809677048184766465 …

1 billion people would have to lose data just to match the Yahoo! hack. You’d have to go to a billion places to surveil them.
loosing data and getting data stolen is different. decentralisation might help against stealing massive amounts of data at once.
Indeed. No one’s suggesting we make them insecure :) PS. 1 billion accounts hacked with in centralised Yahoo! system. +@CaptSolo
information was stolen and it is bad. but I was talking re. data loss. how many of those 1 billion people lost any data?
Right, so the system I’m proposing has e2e-encrypted nodes hosted by professionals for findability/availability & backups.+@skruk
same with me: not against decentralization at all :) just would like to see tools and solutions that'd actually work [at scale]
as decentralised does not automatically mean that it is protected from data corruption or loss
but it's also very important not to loose data. these decentralised tools have to be really good or people might just loose data
