problem w decentralisation is that everyone would have to run their own. sounds nice but there will be (many?) ppl who'll loose data

1 billion people would have to lose data just to match the Yahoo! hack. You’d have to go to a billion places to surveil them.

loosing data and getting data stolen is different. decentralisation might help against stealing massive amounts of data at once.
