The difference is that the EU has laws and a system of justice. Apple is judge, jury, and executioner.

where’s other see a simplistic “Apple are judge, jury and executioner”, I see a complicated set of things that led to this outcome.
-
there’re definitely failings on both sides. But, Apple’s legal use of tax loophole (in eyes of Ireland at least) isn’t equivalent.
-
what I see here is a developer who, perhaps naively, paid for another developer’s account. That developer then made bad choices.
-

-
Apple needed to make that judgement to protect their platform, as they saw it. Theissues comes in the fact Kapeli was likely genuine.

so his popular app and well-earned reputation were ripped away along with the dodgy dealings of the other account.
-
and with laws and stances about privacy, could Apple communicate with Kapeli about what had happened on the other account?
-
being linked by a credit card is a strong indicator that the accounts are linked, but would that cut it for data protection?
