Uber artificially turning off surge pricing is PR that they won’t need once they have an even stronger position.https://twitter.com/aral/status/777412786305589248 …

Think about that before celebrating their “disruption” and the rush to an oligopoly of self-driving cars.https://twitter.com/aral/status/777413141433114624 …

surge pricing means more drivers will be incited to go to the road and more drivers will be available to take people home safely.

Uber drivers on the road that night were risking there lives to take other lives home. That risk explains the surge!

When a tragedy occurs, people & companies show their true colors. Uber should have picked up people there for free!

Etienne - were it for free, very few drivers would want to go there that night.

Etienne, it's life. Uber drivers aren't firemen. If you were around that night would you run away or go there & help?

I don't know. I'm not a driver. I wouldn't ask you to go to the scene of an attack, but if you did just to gouge ppl, that's 👎

@Uber policies on surge & pay are proof that to many 'disruption' just means trampling on pay & upping profit margins at all cost
