Yep, I looked at the bundle – embedded node. Doesn’t in any way mean they must use Google Analytics. +

I think it’s more to reduce work than any sort of ‘scheme’, but with Electron (which is awesome) this will happen more

GA also gets pinged (with 2yr persistent UID) every time you visit most public sector UK web sites, incl. GovUK & ICO

I've seen games use GA too! This is why I prevent http://google-analytics.com DNS name from resolving on my homenet. You can too.
