DNT was never intended to succeed - it was a ruse by adtech industry to maintain the status quo for another 4-6 years

to believe otherwise is utterly naive
-
we had civil society (
@EFF) deliberately NOT speaking out against industry during the entire process (showing their true colours) ... -
we had the original chair pushed aside for
@PeterSwire - an industry lobbyist, to take over, he utterly destroyed the process -
and the entire group was DOMINATED by industry reps -
@PeterSwires refused to allow critical experts into the group -
the entire process was just scandalous it was a god damned conspiracy.
-
industry knew the
@FTC would never take any action whilst DNT process was ongoing - it was an outright ruse -
which is exactly why the few key civil society people who were permitted to join, eventually left.

DNT was brought to you by the inventor of the chocolate fireguard & the team that pioneered ashtrays on motorbikes

the problem was that the
#DoNotTrack protocol did not have backing in law. Now it might - in EU at least.#GDPRThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
