@aral In what sense? He resisted arrest by hiding in an embassy. No-one forced him in there. Or is he above the law?

@CraigGrannell Depends on which law. US law (under which he’d probably be the target of a drone bombing if he wasn’t in London) or…? -
@aral So you're saying if he answered to the accusations in Sweden, the US would bomb with drones? More likely (but not very) in Ecuador. -
@CraigGrannell Nope (not unless it was Pakistan). I’m saying he’d be extradited to the US and tried for his work on Wikileaks. -
@aral I assume you long ago read David Allen Green's post/response to rebuttal, with input from Swedes? http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/media/2012/09/legal-mythology-extradition-julian-assange … -
@CraigGrannell Yes, as well as the thoughts of Khan, Chomsky, etc.

@aral You really think he’s being “arbitrarily detained” because he doesn’t want to be arrested and face due process? -
@anyabike I feel “due process” has been corrupted beyond recognition for political reasons. -
@aral He’s accused of rape and he’s been on the run for 5 years now. How do you suggest the complainant’s rights be enforced? -
.
@anyabike The charges could have easily been tried w/out exposing him to extradition to US. Sweden/US sabotaged that case, not Assange. -

@aral He jumped bail. Bail is important avoiding accused being held on remand and abusing it is serious IMO. Evading initial capture is OK.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
